Tim Macaulay-Robinson, owner of TiMMR.Designs, has been a professional web developer since 1997. He has maintained over 100 websites, some small business websites, tiny personal web pages, blogs, as well as intranet sites. He also worked as a contract web designer on numerous sites.
He began his career in 1996 as a computer repair specialist in Olympia, WA. It didn't take long were his true passion came to fruition. Practicing HTML, CSS and JavaScript during his spare time soon he was working for a local ISP (Internet Service Provider) were he learned the in and outs of the day to day operations to maintain and optimize web servers.
In 2001, web design became a full time career when he created TiMMR.Designs. He maintained contract websites while nightly learning PHP and MySQL online using free community based sites and picking the brains of friends that were already full time developers. He got recognition in 2002 for his creation EQCPS (EverQuest Character Profile System) which was used by many websites to maintain game profiles, items, stats, something which at the time was not done by the video game maker.
He relocated to Modesto, California in 2003 realizing being closer to Silicon Valley would greatly increase his opportunity to be exposed to some of the best minds in his field. He began doing contract work with a few companies, including Snowbirdproperties.net were he created a fully functionally PHP CMS system that continues to run the site with virtually no admin interaction today. Eventually he was hired by a local company in Modesto, The Staley Concern. He was the webmaster for over 15+ different sites were he used all the skills from past experiences but also some new ones, Flash and AJAX.
In 2007, he started working for a San Jose based company, JWAY. There he helped maintain Cisco's intranet web sites through their WPS program, mainly working with the Cisco Powered Partners group. He helped design and develop some of the new templates for Cisco's Small Business website, code named SAMBA. He also was working internally on some of the ongoing web projects at JWAY focusing on his PHP and MySQL knowledge. They took advantage of a CVS system which he helped maintain for all projects, this included helping to maintain 3 servers for development, staging and production all using LAMP technologies.
Over the years he has continued to do contract jobs through TiMMR.Designs. With over 13 years of web development experience he stands out against the crowd bringing his unique look on design and development to help give his clients an advantage over the competitors in this digital economy.
